Welcome to the Headingley Directory

Summer’s Here!

Dear Readers

I don’t know where the last six months have gone but it’s July already and, despite being fooled several times by the weather, we should be set to enjoy some lazy, hazy days. A sure sign of summer is the line up of festivals over the next couple of months. There’s Kirkstall Festival and Unity Day, not to mention events like Opera and Party in the Park, Leeds Carnival and Leeds Carling Festival.

In Headingley this month there’s good news for HEART, St Chad’s new information boards introduce people to the fascinating wildlife and geology lurking in the churchyard, and we find out about how the University of Leeds students are contributing to caring for the environment.

You can also read about the activities of Leeds Wildlife Volunteers, a model boats club open day, Shakespearian shenanigans in Dagmar Wood and the activities of various schools in the area. Plus there’s a new music review feature.

With this being a combined issue, our next deadline is for the September edition and is 8th August. So, don’t forget to get your notices for September in to us in good time.

Have a lovely summer, weather permitting!

Kind regards

Jack & Carole
